Since 1989

How one vision became an industry.

Ertex's history is not only the growth of a company; it is the story of the birth of VIP vehicle design in Türkiye and the evolution of that production culture into a diversified holding group.

The Beginning

A great journey that began in a small workshop.

In 1989, Ercan Malkoç began by sewing seat covers for passenger cars in Ankara. There was no large factory or defined industry yet, but a passion for detail and better comfort was evident from the start.

What distinguished Ertex was the determination to imagine what had not yet been built rather than repeat what already existed.

Chapter 01 · 1989

The early years shaped by craftsmanship

The modest workshop became a school for understanding materials, perfecting craftsmanship and listening to customers. This period established the quality discipline visible in every later Ertex investment.

Chapter 02 · 1991

An idea born from a magazine page

Around the time Salih Malkoç was born, American limousines in a magazine opened a new line of thought for Ercan Malkoç. L-shaped seating, a bar and a tube television inspired him to turn transport into a living space rather than merely a journey.

“I can build this too.”
Chapter 03 · The first VIP minibus

There was no limousine—only the courage to invent

A Hyundai minibus of the period was selected to provide a larger cabin. A domestic armchair was cut and redesigned into an executive seat that could switch between sitting and reclining positions. A manually opening suspended table, television and custom curtains completed the cabin. The first vehicle was built by Ercan Malkoç with a single assistant.

Chapter 04 · The first journey

A real-world test from Ankara to Antalya

When the vehicle was completed, the family travelled together to Antalya. The table was used for meals, the seat became a resting area and young Salih's needs were met inside the cabin. The design was tested in real life, proving that a vehicle could become a mobile living space.

Chapter 05 · An industry takes shape

From the first requests to global scale

When the family returned to Ankara, requests for similar cabins signalled a new market. Production expanded with Volkswagen Caravelle in the 1990s and became an internationally recognised specialism with Mercedes Vito and V-Class in the 2000s. Today Ertex serves clients through locations in Ankara, Istanbul, Düsseldorf and Dubai.

From Brand to Holding

The same production culture, new fields of investment.

Design, project management and execution capabilities gained in automotive were gradually transferred to the group's other businesses. Big Thermal Spa Resort represents hospitality; Batıpark retail and commercial real estate; while Yamaç Evler, Ertex Plaza and Meets İncek represent living and working environments.

01

Hospitality

Big Thermal combines thermal wellness, spa, congress and accommodation facilities in a large resort setting.

02

Real Estate & Retail

Projects such as Batıpark and Meets İncek bring commerce, social life and contemporary workspaces together in strong locations.

03

Construction

Development and execution experience across Yamaç Evler, Ertex Plaza, hospitality facilities and new mixed-use projects.

It all began with the courage of a craftsman who said, ‘I can build this.’ Today the same conviction guides Ertex Holding's new investments.
